Skip2bfit day.

During the spring term we held our sponsored event which was a ‘Skip2bfit' day.  Prior to this event, John McCormack visited our school to lead each class in a skipping session.  The unique Skip2bfit Skipping School programme was established in 2002 in a bid to help cut rising child obesity levels. This innovative national programme was designed to educate children about fitness and healthy eating, as well as improving their maths and computer literacy by the use of its specially designed skip2bfit ropes.

Each class were set the challenge of skipping for 2 minutes, followed by a brief rest before skipping for a further 2 minutes.  The skipping rope counted their skips and they tried their best to beat the first score.  Most children achieved this because they were so determined to improve.

The following photographs show children from each class enjoying their challenge...and even Mrs Gellatly had a go!
