In Literacy, Year 1 read non-fiction books and looked at the ways information is presented.
We then created our own information reports using photos, captions, fact boxes, labels and illustrations.

Art - self portraits. |

In Art this term Year 1 have been looking closely at self portraits by famous artists such as Van Gogh and Rembrandt.
We practised drawing our faces by looking in the mirror and learning where are facial features are located.
Finally we drew a large self portrait and painted it carefully. We mixed paint to match our skin tones, hair and eye colour.
We had to use fine brushes to paint the fiddly parts like eyelashes and lips.
