Minutes from Meeting Wednesday 11th June 08

Attendees: - Holly Saunders (HS) Nicky Reed (NR), Mrs Gellatly, Danzi Castle (DC), Allyson Lean, Tracy Liggins (TL), Mrs Jones, Wendy Allerton (WA)
Nicky Reed stepped down as Chair Person. Danzi Castle nominated Allyson Lean to replace and Wendy Allerton Second this. Holly Saunders will continue as Co-Chair.
Report on Last term's events
School Disco
No financial report. NR is to ask Caron Swadling for figures. There was a bad turn out of children and this may reflect in the amount raised. Carole Turner to organise next disco for Friday 28th November
Planned Events 08
Summer Fete 28th June
All plans are going well. Different year groups and clubs from school are being encouraged to take part in the event, Choir, Judo, Gymnastics will all be taking part.
Actions:
- AL to organise teachers onto stalls.
- AL to give Mrs Gellatly the flyer asking for help. Mrs Gellatly can then ask Year 6 to offer to help on stalls in assembly.
- NR to approach Donna Birch and Liz Baker and ask if they will sell programs outside Somerfield on Saturday 21st June between 10 and 11am.
- AL to ask Miss Owen for a contact at St Johns (first aider) for the Summer Fete
- DC to ask Caron Swadling to organise a cheque for Millers Ark.
- HS asked Mrs Gellatly if the choir could perform a sample of Olyvia pieces for the event. Mrs Gellatly thought this would be o.k. and Rebecca Head agreed she would oversea this.
- It was suggested Claire Bevan, author, could open the Summer Fete. TL is to ask Catherine Pandya if she has her contact number.
Quiz Night
22nd November. Steph Burgess is organising this and Tom and Julie Roberts are booked.
Winter Dance
Date set 18th October 08
The evening will begin at 7.30pm and end at 1.30pm. DC came up with the idea of an Oriental Theme. Everyone thought this was a good idea. Mrs Gellatly recommended Oriental City for purchasing items to decorate the tables. DC to look into this.
Crowthorne Carnival
DC has organised everything ready to assemble onto the lorry. Everyone is to meet at 8.00am in the school to help assemble the float. DC is to approach Amanda Jackson, as a possible person to co-ordinate face painting at the Business Park. More face painters are still needed. DC in the process of making clown packs to sell in the playground.
Millennium garden
Sarah Dewson has taken over this project. SD is trying to contact Russell Purvey, Builder. Once old decking is removed Hatch Ride have expressed an interest in having it.
Painting of the Playground
Miss Roberts has in hand. AL is to ask Miss Roberts if the Mural will be finished in time, for the Fete.
Summer Cake Sales
HS / AL are organising this. Year 6 made £52.60.
Non Uniform Day
This will be Friday 13th June for luxury items for the Summer Fete.
Big Picture
Flyers went out in the book bags. TL said she had taken her family in for photos.
Art Exhibition
SK is looking into this.
Leavers Book/Present
Mrs Gellatly is still thinking about this. Suggested a book of poems. This was thought to be a good idea.
Present from Year 6 to School
TL had asked some year 6 parents for ideas. A fruit tree was suggested. Mrs Gellatly thought this was a good idea.
A.O.B
Mrs Gellatly reported that she was looking for a new company to look after the fish tank. AL recommended Maidenhead Aquatics and will approach them.
Miss Roberts asked HS if the PTA could provide wine and orange at the E Safety evening. It was agreed this would be o.k. The cost was an issue but TL suggested a donation box be used. DC to organise cups for the evening and to ask LB about sale and return wine at Tesco's. SK and HS to serve wine on the night.
Date of Next meeting is Tuesday 30th September at 7.30pm which will be an AGM.
