Dear Reception parent/s
Night Out
Following the recent Reception Parents coffee morning held at the school, we are now organising a Reception Mums ( or Dad’s ) night out and a date has been scheduled for Tues 23rd February, meeting at the Prince pub ( on the corner of Dukes Ride ) for drinks from 8pm. We really hope you can make it as it will be great for to meet everyone socially & get to know each other away from the playground. We are compiling a contact sheet for the whole class which is really useful if you ever need to contact anyone so we plan to update that with everyones details ( if acceptable to you ) on the evening of 23rd. Ideas for
future Reception class social events are most welcome.
Questionnaire
As you may have seen from the recent newsletter, the PTA are keen to find out which type of events are of most interest and have created a short Questionnaire. We will arrange for the questionnaire to go out in book bags after half term. Your feedback is really important so we can make sure we provide something for everyone.
PTA Vacancies
Following the recent announcement regarding the current PTA Co-Chairs & secretary stepping down, there are some key vacancies available within our school PTA.
Whilst this role may seem daunting and overwhelming, it is an opportunity to not only gain a better understanding of the school , but also a great way to meet people amongst the school. You can have a bit of fun, and take pleasure in seeing the children ( and adults ! ) enjoying the events. Our children in Reception are “the future of the school” and therefore we as parents are well positioned to contribute to the future direction of the PTA and influence its continued success. Most importantly, our own children will benefit for at least 5 years from our contribution to the fundraising. We are all extremely busy with many different things however if we can all work together I am sure we can pull together to ensure the future of the PTA for our children. If you are interested in learning more about what’s involved please speak to either Sarah or Lisa. We would also love to hear of any skills/talents/or interests you have which you would be happy to pass on to help the school & PTA.
Dates for your Diary :
Focus Music Week Eve. - Sat 26th February
Summer Fair – Saturday 19th June
Crowthorne Carnival & Flower Display – Saturday 3rd July
School Disco - Friday 9th July
Dinner Dance – Saturday 16th October
Quiz Night – Saturday 20th November
Some great events coming up, in particular the forthcoming Focus Music Week Evening later this month. Mrs Gellatly was really keen for us all to participate in what the children will have been learning all week so it would be great if we can support this special event. Don’t forget you can bring your own refreshments.
Ideas
If you have any ideas or suggestions for events or fundraising that may be suitable for the PTA, we would love to hear from you.
Website
Reception & Yr 2 Mum Nicola Sarin has kindly taken on the task of updating the School Website on behalf of the PTA. Nicola is regularly updating the site with all PTA letters out, PTA event dates, aswell as committee meeting dates & minutes. If you have any ideas of other useful things to add to the PTA site please let us know. If you haven’t already, please register for the Email service to receive letters from the school as this not only saves an incredible amount of paper, but also helps to keep crumpled bits of paper coming out of book bags to a minimum !!
Thanks for your continued support,
Lisa Paine & Sarah Dewson – Reception Class PTA reps
