Crowthorne C of E PTA
Minutes from Meeting Tuesday 18th September 2007

Cake Sales
The Cake sale at end of last term made a profit of £500. HS to speak to Sheila in the office to ensure the money has been distributed to the classes. Thanks to everyone for their support in making fantastic cakes.
Race Night 29th June
The Race night was a huge success and raised a staggering £1100. A Big thank you to everyone who helped with this event. The Auction worked well, everyone had great fun so all agreed to run this event again next year. A date will be set at the next meeting. (NR)
Quiz Night 29th September
Numbers are low this year, so everyone agreed to really push this event in the playground to get more interest. (All)
Christmas Dinner Dance 17th November
CS brother has designed and produced the tickets and posters for this event. A big thank you for his support. The posters will be displayed around the school and possibly around Crowthorne. The cost of a ticket is £25 per person. This will include a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, three course meal and entertainment. The max number is 120, and it is hoped to sell a 100 tickets.
The menu for the evening was selected and a show of hands selected menu 1 from Wellington College. DC to investigate further the vegetarian menu.
DC requested a subcommittee (NR, HS and DC) meeting to make final arrangements, and co-ordinate the sale of tickets. (Class reps to sell) NR to set a date with DC.
Dress code for the evening will be Evening wear.
Burns Night 26th January 2008
All in hand, however SD will need support nearer the time. SD to contact Finchampstead for Waitresses.
Staging
DC will arrange for the Stage suppliers to come in with samples to show Mrs Gellatly.
Millennium Garden
NR has found a product suitable for painting on the decking to make it safe in all weather. It is called Protecta / Kote and will cost £1000. NR is waiting for a sample pot to test an area. All agreed that ‘sand/beige' was the best colour.
AR may have a contact that could supplier cheaper.
SK to speak to a Gardner to get advice on installing a new water feature, NR has seen some suitable stone water features.
Painting of Playground Wall
James, a Muriel Painter is really excited to take on this project and hopes to start in January. NR to organise a subcommittee with Miss Roberts to get this project moved on.
Role of Chair
NR to continue until AGM. Gave a positive plug at the Parents information evening on 20th September to get more support from new parents.
Notification of AGM
Date set for Tuesday 30th October at 7.30pmn to be held in the School Hall. SK to send out AGM notification.
NR / HS to produce Chair report
CS to produce Treasurers report.
AOB
- All agreed to selling Christmas puddings again this year. WA suggested we order 168 puddings this. All agreed that we will only purchase traditional puddings. We will sell for £5.00 each. HS to order ASAP so that we can start to sell them as soon as possible. Hopefully initial sales will commence at the Quiz Night.
CS informed all that the old Accounts have had final sign off by Edward Harriet, Accountant. Edward very kindly donated his time, and suggested we make a donation to charity. It was agreed to donate £50, BG to confirm charity.
This year's accounts are also signed off and a report will be presented at the AGM (CS).
The stove in the key stage 1 kitchen is broken. PTA has agreed to purchase a new one. DC will measure the space and try to get one for Approx £200. Will try and see if we can get a local company to donate one.
