Equality

Under the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Guidance, schools must publish at least one clearly defined equality objective designed to meet the three aims of the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) under the Equality Act 2010: eliminating discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations.

We have identified three equality objectives for our school:

Objective 1: To monitor and analyse pupil achievement, attendance and engagement in wider opportunities by race, gender and disability and act on any trends or patterns in data that require additional support for pupils

Why we have chosen this objective: To ensure that all pupils, regardless of race, gender or disability, achieve and attend school as well as their peers and access the full range of wider opportunities available.

Objective 2: To raise attainment for vulnerable pupils in core subjects, especially at the Greater Depth standard

Why we have chosen this objective: To ensure that all pupils achieve as well as their peers, particularly making sure that they are supported and encouraged to reach the Greater Depth standard in core subjects where possible

Objective 3: To promote understanding and respect for differences and celebrate them.

Why we have chosen this objective: To ensure all members of the school community understand and respect others, regardless of belief, culture, tradition, language or other feature.
