Autumn Term

This term we will be spending time learning in continuous provision and whole-class activities. We will have access to our outside area on weather-permitting days.

In English we will be reading the books 'Dogger' by Shirley Hughes, 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne and a range of poems including some by Michael Rosen. We will be putting our daily phonics sessions into practise to read and write by sounding each word out. This term we will focus on how to form letters clearly with good spacing between words.

In Maths we will continue our mastery of maths by consolidating our understanding of the composition of numbers 1-10. We will be using number bonds to add and subtract accurately. We will also be looking at the patterns between shape and number.

Our topics units will help us to learn about the history of Crowthorne C of E and how it has changed over the years. We will go on a local area trip to find out about the village of Crowthorne and also get some great research into playgrounds ready for next term! In Art, we will study self-portraits and create our own paintings for display, and in DT we will make some healthy fruit kebabs. We also continue to study lots of other areas of the curriculum. Please see the curriculum map for more details.
