What are we learning this term:
This term, Year 2 will be exploring the Great Fire of London in History, using a range of sources, including the eyewitness account of Samuel Pepys. We will also enjoy a special History Day where we will become bakers at Pudding Lane Bakery, recreate the fire and learn about modern firefighting from a present-day firefighter. In Art, we will explore the work of William Morris, focusing on colour, pattern, sketching, observation and collage. In Science, we will investigate animal habitats, microhabitats and food chains. In English, we will be inspired by dragons and the book 'Eliot the Midnight Superhero' to develop our descriptive writing skills, while in Maths we will develop our understanding of numbers to 100, including ordering numbers, finding numbers in between and revisiting our number bonds.
